After installing WordPress for the first time, beginners don’t know how to login to their website dashboard or they often forget how to do that.
Logging in to your admin area is very easy, all you have to do is to go to the login page by adding any of these elements to the end of your domain or website URL: login, wp-login, admin, wp-admin.
After entering your username and password, you will be taken to the WordPress website dashboard.
If you often forget how to login to your website, here are three things you can do:
1 – Save the login page on your browser bookmark bar.
Press Ctrl+d or click on the little star in the top-right corner of your browser.
A box will pop up, choose the name of your bookmarked website and the folder to keep it in then click Done.
Don’t forget to make the bookmark bar accessible by clicking on “show bookmarks bar”(click on the three dots in the top-right corner of your browser–>Bookmarks–>Show bookmarks bar).
2 – Add the login page link to your navigation menu.
You can directly login from the navigation menu on the header of your website, the sidebar or the footer.
To do that, go to your WordPress Dashboard–>Appearance–>Menus.
Under “Add menu items” click on “Custom Links”.
Enter your site’s login URL(www.yourwebsite.com/wp-admin or/admin or /login or /wp-login) and give it a name like “Login” then click Add to Menu and Save.
3 – Add the login widget to your sidebar
You can also login to your admin area through the Meta Widget.
The Meta Widget allows users to register and login to their websites.
Go to Appearance–>Widgets and drag the meta widget to your website’s sidebar or widget-ready area.
